Leadership in Energy and Environmental DesignThe LEED Green Building Rating System helps professionals to improve the quality of their buildings and their impact on the environment. This program not only has a positive impact on public health and the environment, but also reduces the overhead costs to keep the building running throughout its life, potentially improves the productivity of its occupants, and contributes to the creation of a sustainable society.
LEED supplies market-oriented voluntary rating systems based on accepted green building practices and energy saving principles. It seeks to strike a balance between established practices and new concepts.
Certification process
It’s important to keep in mind that LEED is a certification for an entire building, not individual products. So, Clestra Hauserman products are able to contribute to LEED certified projects, but are not able to be certified as a product.
To begin, an applicant for LEED certification must successfully meet all of the prerequisite conditions contained in the document. Then they must acquire the minimum number of points for their desired level of certification by meeting the requirements in the LEED rating system.
